Harbhajan Singh Urges Suryakumar Yadav’s Inclusion in Every ICC World Cup 2023 Match for India

In a recent statement, legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has strongly advocated for the consistent presence of middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav in India’s lineup for every match of the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Suryakumar Yadav showcased his formidable batting skills by scoring a rapid half-century, propelling India to a convincing 99-run victory (DLS method) against Australia in a thrilling encounter in Indore.

Harbhajan Singh made these remarks on his YouTube channel, emphasizing that Suryakumar should be the first name on the team sheet for India at the World Cup. Suryakumar Yadav has been named in India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming home World Cup.

Harbhajan Singh stated, “Suryakumar Yadav should play every match. In whose place, I don’t know. But his name should be the first one to be written down. After that, the other players should be selected.”

The veteran cricketer further highlighted Suryakumar’s ability to single-handedly alter the course of a game, asserting that no one else can boast a better strike rate. Suryakumar delivered an exceptional performance in Indore, scoring an unbeaten 72 off just 37 deliveries, which included six boundaries and an equal number of sixes.

“He is a player who can win you games and completely change the complexion of a match. When he performs, he will turn the match into a one-sided one. There is no better player who can bat with a better strike rate,” Harbhajan Singh added.

Harbhajan Singh unequivocally stated that Suryakumar Yadav should feature in every World Cup match for India, advocating for him to occupy the No. 5 batting position. Suryakumar has amassed 659 runs in 29 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India, maintaining an impressive average of 28.65.

“Among finishers, we have Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, but I feel Suryakumar Yadav should play at No. 5. He should play every World Cup match. No team has a better player than him,” Harbhajan Singh concluded.

Following their resounding victory in Indore, India is set to face Australia once again in the third and final ODI of the series. This highly anticipated match will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on September 27.
